We use the following modalities, depending on the desired outcome,  because they offer a compassionate, integrative approach to healing that honours the whole person—mind, body, and nervous system. Each modality supports clients to safely explore and process trauma, build self-awareness, and reconnect with their inner strengths. Whether through understanding and healing inner parts (IFS), reprocessing painful memories (EMDR), increasing present-moment awareness (Gestalt), or releasing stored tension from the body (Somatic Therapy), these approaches work together to support lasting emotional regulation, self-leadership, and genuine transformation.

Therapeutic Modalities

1. Gestalt Therapy

  • Focuses on present-moment awareness and personal responsibility.

  • Encourages clients to explore their emotions, behaviors, and thoughts in the here-and-now.

  • Often used to support self-awareness, integration, and relational healing.

2. Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Helps clients identify and work with different "parts" of themselves (e.g., inner critic, wounded child, protector).

  • Aims to unburden traumatized parts and restore balance and harmony within the self.

  • Encourages self-leadership and compassion.

3. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • A trauma-focused therapy used to process and integrate disturbing memories.

  • Particularly useful for PTSD, complex trauma, and distressing life experiences.

  • Supports neural integration and reduces the emotional intensity of traumatic memories.

4. Somatic, Body-Based Psychotherapy

  • Connects physical sensations and movement with emotional and psychological healing.

  • Supports nervous system regulation, grounding, and trauma release.

  • Includes techniques like breathwork, movement, and interoception.

5. Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy

  • Conducted outdoors, in partnership with horses and nature.

  • Promotes connection, regulation, trust-building, and insight through non-verbal, experiential processes.

  • Especially effective for trauma, relational issues, and emotional healing.

6. Heart-Centered & Relational Approach

  • Creates a safe, compassionate space rooted in empathy and attunement.

  • Emphasizes genuine connection, presence, and therapeutic alliance.

  • Recognizes the healing power of being deeply seen and supported.

Whether you are seeking equine-assisted therapy, EMDR, or nature-based counselling, our trauma-informed approaches on the Gold Coast provide a safe and supportive environment for healing.
